What are they made of?

Ceramic bongs are essentially those same things you made in art class millions of years ago – instead these are more useful than those simple paper-clip holders. The process is still the same today:

–          get a glob of clay

–          shape it into something useful

–          throw it in the oven

–          make it look pretty

Sounds easy right? Now try making one that looks like a yellow submarine….. and functions as a bong or waterpipe. The difficulty level jumped a bit huh? That’s why these are so cool, the designs are almost impossible to replicate by rookies, but the cost is so low you have no need to go and make your own – just throw down the $10-$20 and you’re good to go!

Pros

The most obvious advantage of ceramic bongs is the different design options available. You can get the craziest designs imaginable and still have a proper functioning piece – which is amazing to us. This also allows for the sizes to be very different, especially compared to other material that only offer standard sizes.

Another advantage that should be noted is the price. Most of these can be found under $50, which is very low considering the compliexity of some designs. This allows you to have more money left over for extra accessories, or to buy a back up one in case of emergency.

Cons

The most clear disadvantage of these is how insanely fragile they are! One drop from 3 ft or higher and most of these bad boys are toast. Try finding a thicker looking one that doesn’t have feeble ends or pieces on it (the more square and compact, the harder it is to break).

Another huge disadvantage is the temperature when lit (or lighting it). This material isn’t the most heat friendly and can make you burn your hands, fingers, mouth and more pretty easily. Try to make sure you find a piece that offers a rubber grip and mouth piece so you can be sure you won’t get burned on your first try!

So that’s it! Hope you learned something today about Ceramic bongs and if you want one, but couldn’t find one on the list above, make sure you check out Grass City(aff) for way more options than we have.
